Proverbs 31:24 – Camek

Camek, the Hebrew letter that begins this verse, is a fulcrum or a support point which keeps everything in balance. More specifically camek depicts financial balance and stability.
Living in a fallen world, few people ever come to a place of continuous financial stability. There are going to be ups and downs and many challenges. In a marriage, the wife can be the balancing point.
When there is not enough income to support the family, she can seek employment for a season to make up the difference. When this happens, the husband must take a greater share of the responsibilities at home and with the children.
That the virtuous woman made and sold these particular items is not the issue. The issue is to maintain financial balance without sacrificing the family. The husband is not the the only one who needs to be careful to put his family before his profession or ministry.
