Proverbs 31:22 – Mem

[bibleblock]Proverb 31:22[/bibleblock]

Beth

Mem, which is the picture for water, is the Hebrew letter that begins verse 22.  In scripture a well of water represents the wife, and a fountain of water represents teh husband.  In the context of marriage, water represents sexuality.

The coverings of tapestry the virtuous woman makes are bed coverings, and she is dressed in the finest clothing for one very important reason: She has planned a night of pleasure with her husband.

The “finest clothing” for this occasion is sexy lingerie, not old flannel pajamas or a floppy t-shirt.  Revealing and alluring clothing worn by a married woman in her bedroom in not evil.  The world has taken something good and used it for immoral purposes.

Part of the routine of married life should be special evenings just for the two of you.  you can expand this to include vacations for just the two of you.  My wife and I try to regularly get a few days without the children to spend time together, away from our responsibilities at work and at home.

We saw in the Book of Genesis that God created marriage for pleasure and fulfillment, but so often the pressures of daily living cause sex to become a routine duty and obligation.  Husbands and wives need time to play together!  Renewing love and friendship brings refreshing waters  to the daily married life.
