Proverbs 31:21 – Lamed

This verse begins with the Hebrew letter lamed, which looks like an ox goad. This simple yet powerful farm implement presents the idea of being a motivator.
When an ox was frightened or faced an obstacle in its path, it would stop and not move. So the farmer had to prod the animal with an ox goad until is started to move again. We are talking about a powerful motivator.
The virtuous woman is motivated by the Word of God in her heart, which prods her to prepare and keep herself strong in faith for whatever lies ahead. As a result, she is prepared for any crisis or obstacle the devil brings to her door. She knows God’s Word will prevail, and she is not afraid.
The color scarlet is a type of royalty. IT is crimson red, like the blood of Jesus. Jesus’ blood cleanses us from sin spiritually and heals us of sickness and disease physically. So the clothing of the virtuous woman if double-layered. One layer symbolizes right standing with God, and the other obedience to prepare in the natural. Her family’s scarlet, double-layered clothing represents both natural and supernatural protection.
When anything tries to intimidate or hinder the virtuous woman, God’s truth inside of her is the goad that dispels all the fears and urges her to press on in adversity. Because she has built herself up spiritually and met her responsibilities in the natural, nothing can cause her to lose faith.
