Proverbs 31:19 – Yowd
[bibleblock]Proverb 31:19[/bibleblock]

Yowd, the first letter of verse 19, is the “dot” Jesus referred to when He said “until heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the Law until all is accomplished.” (Matt 5:18). It is the smallest mark in the Hebrew alphabet, and it looks like a clenched fist or hand that is closed. This speaks of the woman’s strength in work.
Her hands are clenched in work for her family. She makes yarn at the spinning wheel in order to weave clothes for them. No matter how tedious or mundane her task, the light of her spirit does not go out because she is filled with love for the Lord and her family.
Literally, the wife’s clenched fist says, “the joy of the Lord is your strength” (Neh 8:10)
